Custodian Patrons support the State Library of NSW by enhancing access to our unique collections, promoting the history of our nation, and ensuring that every Australian has the opportunity to pursue lifelong learning.
Free access to the State Library's vast collection, scholarly lectures, innovative exhibitions and hands-on learning activities for school children is in no small way due to the support of the Custodian Patrons. During the past ten years alone, Custodian Patrons have contributed more than $1.6 million to the Library, facilitating the acquisition of unique collection items, the preservation of rare documents and artefacts, and the mounting of innovative exhibitions.
Custodian Patrons receive early information about events and activities at the Library and are offered exclusive behind-the-scenes programs. Playing a special role in the growth of the Library, Custodian Patrons are esteemed keepers of our culture and social history whose support helps the Library be recognised as a world leader.
In 2016, funds raised through the Custodian Patrons program will contribute to Shakespeare 400, the Library’s celebration of the life and work of William Shakespeare at the 400th anniversary of his death. Not only will we update and refresh our beloved Shakespeare Room but we will also present an extensive program of events, talks, film screenings and education programs.
All donations are tax deductible and will be acknowledged in the Library Foundation Annual Report and website.
