Collection news

Australian first on Flickr

The State Library is the first library in Australia to release rare photographs from its world-renowned archive for access on Flickr. One hundred quirky and momentous historical ‘firsts’ captured on film have just been launched on Flickr Commons, an online initiative to increase access to publicly-held photography collections. You can interact with the images online through tagging or via comments which we hope will add new information and stories around the collection. New images from the Library's archive will be uploaded to Flickr Commons on a regular basis.
