Calling all Aboriginal artists

We acknowledge the richness and diversity of Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, and we pay our respect to all elders, past and present.

Expressions of Interest now open

We are inviting expressions of interest from Aboriginal artists to work with us to develop a unique digital artwork. The artwork will represent the State Library of New South Wales on Mukurtu, a new website aimed at making Aboriginal collections more accessible.

The successful artist will receive a  fee of $15,000 and spend five days working closely with the Library’s Indigenous Engagement team to bring their digital design to life. The EOI is open to all established and emerging Aboriginal artists from NSW.

How to apply

Send us your concept brief, including why you would like to work with us on this exciting project. Our panel will review all submissions and select the successful artwork.

Please read the guidelines before submitting your application.

Submissions close on Wednesday 1 May 2019.
