11 Words for Love is a children’s picture book that has something to offer readers of all ages and persuasions. Randa Abdel-Fattah’s quiet and thoughtful prose is complemented beautifully by Maxine Beneba Clarke’s joyful illustrations.
The abstract concept of love is explored in language that is both exquisite and accessible. Readers are invited to consider loving in all its forms and to bring their own hearts and ways of loving to the various definitions. Being bilingual, the book exposes children and adults alike to the delight of learning a new language, not just for the exciting linguistic differences but for an appreciation of the universality of the human experience.
