In this dazzling adaptation of Dario Fo’s 1974 political farce Non Si Paga! Non Si Paga!, Hardy has taken the bones of the Italian’s attack on capitalism and corruption and transformed them into something entirely her own, and of our time. The dialogue sings and stings, the characters leap from the page, and the story takes turns that constantly surprise, often beyond the original.
This is a play that is fresh, funny and accessible, and has things to say.
