Christina Sinclair 1846

Christina Sinclair was the wife of James Sinclair, a prominent builder in Goulburn. She was born in Scotland, c 1819, and emigrated with her husband to Australia in 1839. She died suddenly in 1848, aged 29, some weeks after the birth of her child. The coroner attributed her death to ‘idiopathic asphyxia’ and described her demise as a ‘visitation from God’.
