Journal of a Voyage to New South Wales ... 1790

by John White

As Surgeon-General on the First Fleet, John White was responsible for the health and wellbeing of the people of the colony.  He had a passion for natural history and the journal he kept during the voyage and first year of settlement became one of the most important and influential works on the colony. White's journal is illustrated with 65 engravings, drawn in England from specimens sent to London by White. Nearly 720 copies of the lavish first edition were printed.
