Ocean floor2016

by Bronwyn Bancroft

Bronwyn Bancroft is a Bundjalung artist and children’s book author originally from Tenterfield, NSW. She is a founding member of the Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Co-operative, which was started in Sydney in 1987. Bancroft illustrated her first book, The Fat and Juicy Place, (with Diana Kidd) in 1992 and has since illustrated and/or written 40 books for children. Bronwyn Bancroft is known for her bold use of colour and patterns derived from Aboriginal motifs and her striking designs often resemble stained glass windows.  You can see three of her original artworks on display in the Library's Amaze Gallery.

‘Ocean floor’ (pictured) and 'Mountains', original artworks for Shapes of Australia, 2016.  As well as ‘Red’, an original artwork for Colours of Australia, 2016.
