Stanwell Parkc 1935

by Attributed to Douglas Dundas

Douglas Dundas, a member of the Sydney modernist school, was best known for his depictions of landscapes, inner-city houses and streetscapes. He taught at the National Art School at East Sydney Technical College for 35 years.

His own painting time was limited to weekends and summer vacations. During the Depression years of the 1930s his painting excursions didn’t extend far beyond Sydney, however Stanwell Park, south of Sydney was a favourite weekend getaway.
