The Tattooist of Auschwitz

With Heather Morris

The Tattooist of Auschwitz is a novel based on the incredible true story of Lale Sokolov, a Jewish man imprisoned at Auschwitz and forced to tattoo identification numbers on his fellow prisoners. While performing this dehumanising job at the age of 24, Lale meets and falls in love with Gita when he tattoos a number on her arm. His life is given purpose again, and he tries to use his privileged position in the camp for the good of others. This is a powerful, never-before-told account of overcoming the most unimaginable horrors, with a background story of Lale coming to know and trust the author Heather Morris.
