With Ian Macfarlane
Ian MacFarlane explores the lives of ten remarkable Australians who each made their mark on the world stage through their personal achievements. They led interesting and adventurous lives, became well-known — even famous — for a time, but their memory has faded. Join Ian as he brings characters to life again for modern audiences with these lucid, engaging accounts of their lives.

Ian Macfarlane was born in Sydney but brought up in Melbourne where he was educated at Melbourne High School and Monash University - B Ec (Hons), M Ec. After eight years abroad, he returned to Australia in 1979 and joined the Reserve Bank in Sydney where he worked for 28 years, the last ten as Governor. In recognition of his contribution in that role, he was made a Companion of the Order of Australia and awarded honorary doctorates by five universities. His first book The Search for Stability based on his 2006 Boyer Lectures covered a broad field of history and economics.
