Finding pictures in the Library catalogue 

Discover and explore the Library’s vast collection of pictures using the catalogue, including digitised pictures that you can access online. 

 

Australian photographs: an historical record for researchers.

Photographs contain a wealth of information about the time they were created and are often the only surviving physical evidence of events. Join our curator for a foray into Australia’s history as seen through the photographer’s lens. 

 

Cracking the code: how to read Australian portraits 

Every picture tells a story. This session will demonstrate how a portrait can provide information and inspiration for your research. 

 

Finding pictures in the Library’s eresources 

This session will highlight some of the picture rich eresources freely available with your Library card.    

 

Digging deeper: hidden pictorial treasures in the Library’s collections 

The Library has acquired many collections relating to a particular theme, for example maritime history, sports and the performing arts. In this session we will dig deeper into some of these hidden and surprising collections.
