Vulnerable and fierce, hilarious and heartbreaking, Queerstories celebrates the culture and creativity of the LGBTQI+ community one true story at a time: unexpected tales of pride, prejudice, resilience and resistance.

Eight years ago, Queerstories began its life in Kings Cross Library, now this iconic event makes its way to the State Library of NSW’s Mitchell Library Reading Room. Celebrating the end of the Pride (R)evolution exhibition, this special event features storytellers who make and record LGBTQI+ history – proving that rather than dusty records locked away, history is alive and evolving and archiving happens all around us.

Hosted by Maeve Marsden, with Dr Jesse Hooley, Damien Webb, Lisa Salmon, C. Moore Hardy and more to be announced.

Queerstories has played to crowds big and small, from Mudgee to Murwillumbah, Albury to Adelaide, Brisbane and beyond, with an award-winning podcast featuring an archive of more than 300 queer tales.

This event is presented in association with the Library’s exhibition, Pride (R)evolution, and is proudly supported by the NSW Government through the Culture Up Late Program.
