Ptolemy’s  Geography is a treatise on geographic knowledge, based on Ptolemy’s original work from 150 AD. Among the Library’s many editions of Ptolemy is the 1535 edition edited by Michael Servetus. Denounced as a heretic, Servetus was burnt at the stake in 1553. View this rare edition and hear the story about this significant work, the maps, and the gruesome end of Michael Servetus, at the Scholar Talks at Six in the Library’s Map Rooms.

Maggie Patton is the Manager, Research & Discovery at the State Library of New South Wales.
