A project by photographer Tom Williams

Using words and images, photographer Tom Williams brings us stories of a 100-strong community under economic pressure. Gathering in a Wollongong carpark, they share a free dinner provided by a local woman who experienced homelessness after the end of her long career and marriage breakdown. Williams was inspired to see how an otherwise disused and barren place was put to use in a creative way, providing a needed service and also creating a sense of friendship and family.

This project was awarded the inaugural Stories of NSW – The NSW Arts Minister’s Award for Visual Storytelling and is a Featured Exhibition of Head On Photo Festival 2019.
