Workshops with your favourite authors
A girl who acts like a dog and a dog that acts like a human? Explore the world of Evie and Pog – two very best friends, a girl and a dog – with this interactive session. Kids will enjoy a story from the book, eye-popping videos of the books’ illustrations in process, draw their own versions of Evie and Pog, and make finger puppets to take home!
In this session participants will be taken on a wild story journey: on an icebreaker ship traversing the Southern Ocean, trekking across ice fields and glaciers in Antarctica, battling through a raging blizzard, and finally taking shelter in an ice cave … Along the way, they will discover what it takes to make a story both authentic and gripping, and will explore the special tools writers employ to make their stories sparkle. The session will involve interactive storytelling and audience participation.
We’re creating a garden full of paper flowers, creepy crawly insects and of course there will be books to share, puzzles to complete and fun to be had! The Learning Centre is a great place to meet your friends and enjoy time together. These activities are available all day, so drop in and linger as long as you like.
