David W Anstice AO

David W Anstice retired as a senior executive of Merck & Co Inc in 2008 after a 35-year career. From 2008 to 2018 he was a non-executive director of CSL Limited, based in Australia, and from 2008 to 2022 a director of Alkermes plc, based in Ireland and the USA. Born in Wagga Wagga, NSW, Mr Anstice is an Economics graduate of the University of Sydney, and resides in Pennsylvania, USA.

At the University of Sydney, Mr Anstice was Deputy Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors of the United States Studies Centre from 2009 to 2019, Chairman and President of the University’s USA Foundation from 2003 to 2020. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Business in 2021.

In 2018 Mr Anstice was awarded the Order of Australia for distinguished service to US–Australia relations, particularly in the biopharma sector.
