Explore Australian history including Indigenous Australians, the First Fleet, early settlement and the expansion of the colony. Learn about the world's oldest living culture through a series of hands-on activities and study the lives of convicts through the lens of original collection items.

In this 120 minute program students will:

  • analyse primary source material
  • participate in a costumed guided role play
  • investigate Indigenous cultural materials
  • tour the State Library
  • view original collection items relating to Australian history.

Bus Subsidy

The State Library of NSW offers to provide K-12 school students from DET schools in Western and South Western Sydney, access to FREE bus travel to visit the State Library of NSW to participate in our onsite learning programs.
