Publishing Poetry

Recall how C.J Dennis used to write for his school paper.

• Using Trove, view newspapers from the 1870's and the 1880's. Compare them to newspapers of today.
• In pairs or small groups, come up with 2 similarities and 2 differences.
• Recalling what you have learnt about C.J Dennis and his poetry, write your own funny poem (at least 6 lines), which will then be made into a class newspaper.
