Last night the Library hosted the 2022 Student Literary Awards which recognised 36 talented young writers from across NSW.

This event combined two fixtures in the NSW student literary calendar: Write On, an annual writing competition for primary school students, and the Young Writers Showcase, an anthology featuring exemplary compositions by HSC English Extension 2 students.

NSW State Librarian Dr John Vallance said that he hoped the work of this year’s writers was only a beginning for them:

“With such talent across such a wide range of literary genres, the future of writing in Australia is in good hands."

Congratulations to all students who attended and received awards for their work.

If you’re a student currently doing HSC English Extension 2, make sure you bookmark this link to get a spot at our Word eXpress seminar day in November. Bookings open at 8 am on Monday 17 October 2022.
