Face masks now mandatory

We are complying strictly with NSW Health guidelines to help protect the health and safety of everyone who comes through our doors.

In line with recent changes to NSW Health orders, from Sunday 3 January Library readers, visitors and staff will be required to wear a face mask at all times.  Your health is our priority, and we will have a limited number of masks available to help visitors adjust to the change.

Providing accurate details for contact tracing purposes also remains a requirement of entry to the Library. This information will be deleted after 28 days.

Physical distancing measures remain in place, with limited seating in reading rooms as per the 1 person per 4 square metre rule.

We are also continuing to ensure:

  • hand hygiene facilities are available at each entrance to the Library and in key locations;

  • bathrooms are well stocked with hand soap and instructions on how to wash hands properly are provided;

  • all hard surfaces in the reading rooms, galleries and other public spaces are regularly cleaned throughout the day; and

  • study desks, computer keyboards and mouses are cleaned between each use.

If you are feeling unwell or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or have visited a hot-spot in the past 14 days, please do not visit the Library.
