The State Library is temporarily closed until further notice. See updates here.
Dear Friends of the Library,
In line with decisions made by the National Cabinet as communicated by the NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, the State Library will close to the public tomorrow until further notice to help protect the health of all visitors and staff and minimise the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in the State.
This pandemic is a time of great challenge and disruption for all of us, and many of us are very concerned at the thought of being isolated from one another. Please remember that while our doors may be closed, we at the Library – along with our friends in public libraries around the state - will be doing our best to keep you stimulated and connected, even when faced with self-isolation.
We encourage you to continue to visit us online to access thousands of free ebooks, newspapers, journals and other resources from home using your Library card. You can also listen to podcasts, help transcribe our oral histories and explore a wide range of digital stories.
Any new information about the operations of the Library in the days and weeks ahead will be published here and on our social media channels.
Further official information and advice on COVID-19 is available here.
We are grateful for the support of our community and we look forward to welcoming you back to your beloved State Library again at the first opportunity.
