Update on the Friends Room re-opening

We’re really pleased to share with you that the Friends Room will reopen to members on Monday 2 November. We look forward to welcoming our Friends back into this space Monday to Friday, 10.30 am to 5 pm.

We understand how frustrating the temporary closure of the room has been at times, however the health and safety of our Friends and supporters, visitors and staff is always our top priority. For this reason, we will be limiting capacity to ensure safe physical distancing in line with NSW Public Health Orders. At this stage, we unfortunately won't be able to provide coffee and tea refreshments.

From 8 October, the room will be needed as part of our emergency outreach to HSC students. Over the past few weeks the Library has opened up additional spaces throughout the Library to ensure HSC students and other readers have access to study desks. This has been a difficult time for HSC students with so many disruptions due to COVID-19. And with many local libraries closed or operating with reduced numbers and services, students have had a hard time finding a place to study and this Library is doing everything it can to help.

We appreciate your support and patience.
