Digitised maps at the State Library of NSW

As part of the Digital Excellence program many maps and subdivision plans are being digitised.  These are in colour and are high resolution.  We are working our way through the subdivisions plans in alphabetical order but with over 40,000 plans it will be a few years until they are completed!
The State Library recently asked people to tweet the name of their suburb using #DigitiseMySuburb and tag @StateLibraryNSW. The most Tweeted suburb (between 6 January 2015 –17 February 2015) was moved up the list for digitisation.  As a result of this the subdivision plans for Woolloomooloo were next in line for digitisation. There are over 150 plans in this collection which have been digitised and made available online.

Due to the overwhelming response received, the Library has also decided to prioritise the second and third most voted suburbs: Parramatta and Chippendale.
Many suburbs in your local government areas have already had subdivision plans digitised  -  we have been concentrating on the As and Bs  You can find out the most recent ones by going to the current content feed.
