The Hills are alive

The Hills Shire Libraries were very much alive when the Library Council of NSW visited recently.  Library Council at Hills Shire Library

Library Council members The Hon. George Souris AM, Kathy Bail, Jane Garling, Dr Ursula Dubosarsky and Jan Richards AM were accompanied by our State Librarian Dr John Vallance and Dr Lisa O’Sullivan from the State Library to The Hills Shire Library service.

The visit included a tour and service overview of the Castle Hill Library and a sneak peek of the new auditorium and meeting spaces. The visitors also had tours of Dural Library and the Vinegar Hill Memorial Library at the Rouse Hill Town Centre.

The Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne, General Manager Michael Edgar and senior council staff hosted a lunch at The Hills Shire Council.

The day was a great opportunity for Library Council members to visit a metropolitan library service and learn about the challenges facing metropolitan councils as they plan for significant population increases over the next 10 years.
