Legal Aid NSW have recently updated some of their most popular pamphlets.
What happens when your relationship ends was updated in August 2019. It provides information about divorce, family dispute resolution, making arrangements for children following a separation, moving home, and property settlement. It's now available in six languages - English, Arabic, Dari/Farsi, Vietnamese, Spanish and simplified Chinese.
There are five new divorce fact sheets:
- Applying for a divorce
- Serving your divorce documents
- Separation under the same roof
- How to use the Commonwealth Courts Portal
- Serving divorce documents when your spouse is in prison
The Employment problems: spot the signs fact sheet has been updated to reflect the new minimum wage. This fact sheet helps people identify underpayment, exploitation in the workplace and unfair dismissal. It is available in English, simplified Chinese, Vietnamese, Spanish, Arabic and Thai.
Ripped off: your rights about unpaid wages and entitlements, a resource for young workers, has also been recently updated.
With the NSW Seniors Festival early next year, it may also be time to order new seniors pamphlets. The Legal issues for older people series of pamphlets cover issues including writing a will, being a grandparent, violence or abuse, helping your family financially, and housing issues.
Order publications from the Legal Aid Order a publication page. Select the topic you're interested in, eg Families, Relationships and Children or Jobs and Employment or Older People, and follow the prompts to order.
