The Find Legal Answers Tool Kit is a collection of up to twenty plain English books about the law. It is a standardised collection, held by every library service in NSW. Each central library has two copies of the Tool Kit. One copy is for reference, and should be displayed in the black metal Tool Kit stand or in face out shelving. The other set is for loan.
Each LIAC library also agrees to buy one Tool Kit collection for each of their branches. It is each library's responsibility to order and pay for these extra sets.
The Tool Kit is updated by State Library LIAC staff twice a year. The LIAC contact receives notification either by email or post that the Tool Kit needs to be updated. LIAC sends every central library two free copies of new books in the Tool Kit collection, as well as the updated list or titles and notification about new titles to obtain and resources to remove. The LIAC contact arranges the purchase of any new titles or editions, and removes and discards any out of date titles.
Books no longer in the Tool Kit collection. Check this list in conjunction with the list of current titles to ensure your collection is up to date.
Use these two flyers to promote the Tool Kit. You can include them in your Law Week showbags, or at any other events promoting the Find Legal Answers service.
- Tool kit flyer. Place this in your Tool Kit stands in your central and branch libraries to show your clients what books are in the Tool Kit and online. Print copies as needed.
- Law handbook flyer. Use this to promote the Law handbook, and the fact that it is available in full text online. Print copies as needed.
