Owen Stanley (1811-1850) was a naval officer and keen amateur artist who compiled this album of beautiful sketches in pencil, ink, wash and watercolour whilst he was captain of the surveying ship H.M.S. Rattlesnake. The bound volume required work to consolidate damage from wear and tear over the years.
