World Digital Preservation Day 2018

Preserving NSW digital collections

The Library has a long history of collecting born-digital material and collection digitisation.

Today we aim to create a greater awareness of digital preservation activities and the importance of creating a digital legacy for future generations.

The Library’s Digital Preservation Policy, establishing standards and informing ongoing requirements, was ratified in 2015.

A new digital preservation system was implemented the next year, ensuring the sustainability of the growing digital collection providing active management of the digital information over time and ensuring its continued viability and accessibility.
