Get a Special Collections card
A Special Collections card allows you to use original material or rare printed material from the collections in the Special Collections area.
Why get a Special Collections card
You'll need a Special Collections card to request and use original material and rare printed material, including items that are unique, irreplaceable and fragile in the Special Collections area. Special Collections cards are free of charge.
How to get a Special Collections card
To get your card, you'll need to:
- be over 18 years of age
- read and agree to the Special Collections conditions of use
- visit the Library and go to the Special Collections area in the Mitchell Library building
- bring two forms of identification that between them show your:
- home address
- photo
- signature.
If you already have a Library card, visit the Library and go to the Special Collections area in the Mitchell Library building to provide identification and get a Special Collections card.
If you don't already have a Library card, you can apply online before visiting the Library.
