Earlier this year the Library exhibited the prestigious World Press Photo contest 2020 and invited Sydney Morning Herald photographer, Rhett Wyman and Herald and Age journalist Ella Archibald-Binge to discuss their latest joint venture, the Dalarinji Project, supported by the Judith Nielson Institute.

Over the past 12 months, the project has sought to humanise the political rhetoric around Indigenous affairs. From the rainforests of Cape York to the dusty plains of western NSW, Rhett and Ella have been travelling the country to capture fresh perspectives on the summer bushfires, the Black Lives Matter movement and the Closing the Gap strategy. Here, they discuss the stories behind some of their favourite images from the project.
