About the Library
Situated in Sydney’s CBD between the Royal Botanic Gardens and Parliament House on Macquarie Street, the State Library of New South Wales is internationally renowned and one of Australia’s leading libraries. With an extensive collection of over five million items, the State Library aims to collect, preserve and make accessible the documentary heritage of NSW. The Library also offers access to information and resources both onsite and online, and hosts a dynamic range of public programs through exhibitions, talks, tours and movies. The State Library supports the NSW Public Library Network, administering the annual public library grants and subsidies program.
