Voyages of Discovery - the Great South Land

From as early as 400 AD Europeans suspected that a vast landmass existed beyond the Indian Ocean, but it was centuries before this mysterious continent was finally located, charted and named 'Australia'.

Through  journals, log books, letters, paintings, prints and drawings , uncover first hand the events of these voyages, encompassing shipboard life, encounters with the indigenous people, cultural insights, along with descriptions of the strange new flora, fauna and topography.
