Exhibitions & events

The State Library of New South Wales provides dynamic, informative and entertaining exhibitions and display programs from over one million pictorial images as well as maps, manuscripts and ephemera from our collections.

Five historic galleries in the Mitchell Wing enable visitors to see many treasures through a changing exhibition and display program.

The State Library of New South Wales also hosts inspiring talks, tours, movies and courses covering subjects as broad as our own collections. Join journalists, artists, writers, historians, researchers, curators and even food critics - there's something for everyone's taste.

The Library provides free exhibitions showcasing the Library's unique collections of art, photography, books, manuscripts and artefacts relating in particular to New South Wales and the Pacific.

Public events at the State Library include talks on literary, historical and contemporary issues, movies, workshops and courses as well as presentations about, and showings of, the Library's rich collections.
