John G Pearson

John Pearson is an experienced independent board member with appointments in Government and the Not-for-Profit Arts and Culture sector for over 30 years. 

He has served as the President of the Manly Art Gallery and Museum Society, Deputy Chair of the Australian Museum Foundation, Treasurer and Council Member of the Art Gallery Society of NSW, Board Member of Museums and Galleries NSW. 

He has contributed to the community of the Northern Beaches through Council reference and working groups for Arts and Culture since 2015.  
He was appointed to the Audit and Risk Committee for Justice NSW between 2016 and 2019.

With likeminded residents he established the Barrenjoey Alliance for Arts and Culture, a group that aims to provide ideas and leadership in arts and cultural policy for Pittwater and beyond.  
He now serves as a committee member on the Palm Beach Whale Beach Association and has been a volunteer guide for Museums of History NSW since 2015.

In his 40-year professional career he held senior executive positions in Information Technology Industry working across Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific for IBM, Oracle and Fujitsu.

Mr Pearson holds a MA (Banking Mgt) from MGSM and a BA in Economics from Macquarie University.
