Subdivision plans advertise land to be subdivided and sold. They tell the story of Sydney suburbs: the expansion of the city, changes in public transport and local attractions, the history of the real estate market and home ownership. We have over 35,000 subdivision plans in our collection, dating from the 1860s to the 1940s. 

The Library recently digitised these plans, which can be accessed through our catalogue. You can now search for your suburb and find out how much the land was worth before the property boom!
