Peter Hall travel notebook c 1968

By Peter Hall

In February 1966, Jørn Utzon resigned as architect of the Sydney Opera House. Talented young architect Peter Hall was invited to take on the role of design architect as part of consortium Hall Todd & Littlemore. Shortly after accepting the position, he took a study tour of concert and opera halls in Europe and the United States, gathering ideas to help him finish the difficult project. The Library recently acquired Hall’s archive of Sydney Opera House sketchbooks, photographs and correspondence, including this travel notebook.
