Lucy Knox
2018 Winner
Lucy Knox is an award winning writer and director.
She has a Masters of Writing and Directing from the Victorian College of the Arts, where her graduate short film An Act of Love, won Best Direction in a Student Film at the Australian Directors’ Guild Awards in 2018.
An Act of Love premiered at Sydney Film Festival where it received a Special Mention for Best Screenplay, before premiering internationally at the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival. In 2018 Lucy was invited to participate in the Accelerator Programme Lab for directors at the Melbourne International Film Festival with An Act of Love. The film has since screened at film festivals including Cork Film Festival and Palm Springs International ShortFest, and was recently acquired for distribution by The Criterion Collection.
Lucy also has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of New South Wales and continues to make video based artwork. She works in both documentary and narrative forms, with her short documentary Last Man Standing premiering internationally at Sheffield DocFest 2018 and as a finalist at Tropfest Australia in 2018.
